The 100 Push Ups Challenge

When you subscribe to 139 blogs (yes, I have a bit of an addiction) there are definitely some things that you will see more than once. So, a big thank you to A Mom Speaks and I’m a Drama Mama for pointing me to this website.

I am not worried much about weight, but I know there is a lot that I could do to increase general health and well-being. So, why start with push-ups? From the Hundred Pushups site:

Push ups are one of the basic and most common exercises for the human body. Push ups are not only great for your chest, but do a tremendous job of defining your abs, triceps, shoulders and torso.

I never knew that push-ups would help with the abs. I like the idea of increasing arm strength and working on the abs at the same time. So, I’m going to take the challenge and see how well I do.

Back in my cheerleading days 100 pushups was no problem, but now things are a little different. It’s been too long since I did any real strength training and I can barely eek out a few push-ups without my arms starting to shake. I honestly thought I’d be able to at least do 10. I guess I’m worse off than I thought.

So, off to familiarize myself with the program and let’s see how many push-ups I can do at the end of 6 weeks.

    Good luck and have fun!

I keep reading people are surprised at how *few* push ups they’re able to do.

I’m sure you’ll soon go from strength to strength…

Thanks for posting about the challenge,

    –Steve
